Your Lifescape
Experience
A little more time with who they used to be.
Still images,
set gently in motion.
Lifescape gathers photographs from across a person's life and lets you step back into those moments.
Through considered storytelling and AI-assisted animation, still images become one continuous, personal film, made for your family and your occasion.
Each piece is crafted individually. We give the same care to the photographs, the people in them, the music, and the story they tell together.
A single photograph.
Still images, set gently in motion.
One continuous, personal film.
How long
will it be?
The number of photographs guides the length and pacing of your film. These figures are a starting point rather than a formula; the final duration depends on the photographs, the music, and the creative direction.
Our aim is a cohesive, meaningful piece, not to fit in as many photographs as possible.
How it unfolds.
Getting to Know the Story
We begin with an introductory conversation about the person at the center of the film, the occasion, and what you'd like the finished piece to convey. We'll talk through important people, memories, music, and any moments you'd like us to keep in mind.
Afterward, we'll send a brief summary so you can correct or add anything before we begin.
Reviewing and Curating the Photographs
When you're ready, share a broad collection of photographs that could help tell the featured person's story, including:
- Different ages and stages of their life
- Key relationships and occasions, with the featured person in focus
- Milestones, and the everyday moments that capture the featured person's personality
When in doubt, include it. There's no need to choose, sort, or narrow the collection. We'll select the images that best tell the story, weighing significance, variety, and suitability for animation. See the photos that work best.
Please send original image files rather than screenshots or compressed copies from messaging apps. Photos spread across folders, devices, or an external drive are perfectly fine; our photo submission guide explains how to share them.
Confirming the Final Selection
We'll gather the proposed photographs into a folder for your review, so you can confirm the right moments and memories are represented.
The selection must be approved at least six weeks before the event. Once approved, it is final, unless we identify a technical or creative issue that requires an adjustment.
Bringing It to Life
With the photographs approved, we begin creating and editing the film, developing the movement, pacing, and transitions that carry the story.
Near completion, we may reconnect about the opening and closing scenes so the film begins and ends in a way that feels right.
Reviewing Your Film
You'll receive a draft of your Lifescape to review. Your quoted price includes two rounds of feedback. Here is how it works:
One designated family contact gathers all comments and sends them to us in a single email. Please don't circulate the draft widely: it spoils the surprise and can draw out the timeline.
Please identify specific issues at specific moments, ideally with a timestamp. If something feels off, let us know which transition or moment it relates to.
We'll do our best to accommodate every reasonable request, within the capabilities of AI-assisted animation.
AI-assisted animation is an evolving creative medium. We work carefully to preserve each person's recognizable appearance and the integrity of the original photographs, but visual inconsistencies can occur during movement. We'll address anything that materially affects a person's appearance or the viewing experience, though inconsistencies and artifacts may remain.
Final Delivery
Once review is complete, we'll deliver your final high-resolution digital film, ready for your event. Where relevant, coordinate with your event production team in advance to confirm playback requirements.
The photos that
come to life best.
A Lifescape tells the story of one person. The strongest photographs keep the focus on them.
The featured person, in focus
Choose photos where the featured person is the clear subject: facing the camera or turned toward it, with their face clearly visible.
As few people as possible
Solo portraits and photos with one or two others animate most naturally. Large group shots are harder to bring to life, so keep them to the moments that truly matter.
In action, with something in hand
Photos of the featured person doing something give us the most to work with: holding a lacrosse stick, playing an instrument, cooking, riding a bike, blowing out birthday candles.
- Solo portraits at different ages
- Mid-activity: sports, hobbies, travel
- Close moments with one or two loved ones
- Large group or crowd photos
- The featured person small or far away
- Faces turned away, hidden, or out of focus
Working back
from your date.
To give your Lifescape the time and attention it deserves, every milestone is set in relation to your event.
Send your broad collection and all required materials as early as possible, giving us time to review and curate the story.
Review and approve the final selection. Once approved, it is final, except for adjustments we identify as necessary.
We share the first version. Two rounds of feedback are included, each sent in one email by one designated family contact.
We aim to deliver your completed, high-resolution film, ready for your event.
A note on timing. These milestones depend on receiving photographs, approvals, and feedback on schedule. If materials or feedback are delayed, production and delivery may need to be adjusted.
A few things
to keep in mind.
Music is part of the story.
Your song preferences shape the emotional arc of the piece, and we'll discuss your selections during the creative process. Music use is subject to applicable licensing and usage requirements.
Every piece is individual.
The final result depends on the photographs available, their quality, and what's possible in animating them. Our focus is a cohesive, personal experience rather than a perfect recreation of every detail in every frame.
We look forward to creating
a meaningful piece with your family.
